Unique Signs – 2019 First Place Winner
Four satellite antennas at the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility got a makeover. Local artists created artwork to represent each Indigenous group in Inuvik—which includes the Gwich’in, Inuvialuit, and Métis—along with a design from students at East Three Secondary School and one from the town. This artwork was then applied to the antennas in a process called wrapping. The paintings were scanned then large-format printed onto 3M self-adhesive vinyl to wrap the 15.24 m (50 ft) dishes with the artwork.
