Materials and Methods:
The concept for the project—from architecture to signage—was based on adinkra printing blocks, often made by woodcut and inked for use in print. The signage includes routed and oak blocks, stained or finished with a clear coating. Brass was used sparingly throughout the space for lighting, accents, and room numbering. Cut vinyl is used as a privacy screen and for safety awareness. Symbols for room identification are associated with a person and their role, thus mounted such that they can move if the individual changes offices.
