Materials and Methods:
The faces of the letters are aluminum laminated with gold mirror octolux (aluminum laminate) and were cut out on a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. All of the sides were hand bent from gold mirror laminate only. The letters were then halo-lit with light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The illumination was softened by using internal acrylic diffusers. The letters were pin-mounted to the wall with thread rod and spacers to allow them to hover and produce the glow effect. The smaller letters were spring-pin mounted and fabricated from CNC-cut black PVC. These were also laminated using gold mirror octolux. The store’s fascia/entryway was covered in brushed-black alupanel.
